The Glorious Gospel: Quotes on Christ’s Work

Hello, my friends! As we approach Easter or Resurrection Sunday, it’s the perfect time to meditate on the glorious truths of the Gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:3 defines the Gospel as the “death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” We know that it is only His work that can save us, not anything we’ve done. Today, I’d like to share some Scripture and favorite quotes about Christ’s saving work. “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;…

    Inspiration for Your Week #11

Hello my friends! As we enter a new month tomorrow—actually, the first month of a new season, we’re mindful of the uncertainty of life. Yesterday at church, the preacher reminded us that we are not in control. I know that I too often forget that! There is something in us that fears losing control, but the reality is, we’ve never had it. I was reminded anew to surrender my life—every hope, every dream, every fear, every uncertainty—into the hands of my loving Lord. Into the hands of my living Lord! Because while I am not in control, God is. He is as real, as powerful, as almighty as He was…

    Inspiration for Your Week #10

Hey there, everyone! As I take my Bible classes, it’s been such a blessing to study the foundational truths of God’s word. Sometimes, especially growing up in a Christian home, you take those truths for granted. But how precious they are! In one of last week’s classes, the teacher was discussing the difference between the law and grace. The topic is huge—way too big to go into here in detail—but I finished the class with renewed gratitude for what Christ has done for us! He lived the life we couldn’t live, keeping the law we couldn’t keep (Matthew 5:17). He died the death we should have died, in our place,…

    Inspiration for Your Week #8

Good morning, friends! I’m excited because this week my correspondence Bible classes start. I so enjoyed learning more from God’s word last semester, and I’m happy to be taking the classes full-time this spring. In preparation for one of the classes, I was reading 2 Corinthians 1 and I found a sweet reminder from the Lord that He is completely trustworthy. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of…

    Inspiration for Your Week #7

Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your January! Mine has been pretty low-key so far, which is fine with me. Teaching piano lessons, violin, and just the day-to-day activities that go on. After a crazy December, it’s been nice to have a slower pace this month. Today’s quote is on a verse that we are all probably familiar with, and a verse that we may even tend to view as cliche. But the truth it contains is so precious. What is the difficulty, the trial, the frustration in your life that you didn’t want and can’t understand? Trust that your loving Father will work it…

    Inspiration for Your Week #5

Good morning, friends! This week, it’s back into “normal”, busy life–and that’s fine with me. I love a break now and then, but there’s just something pleasant about settling into an active routine. At the beginning of each new year, I like to set some goals, and I thought I’d share a few of mine with you. Some of my goals for 2022 include: memorizing more Scripture, taking full time online Bible classes, becoming more proficient at violin, furthering my medical knowledge by personal study, and trying to develop my own new recipes (something I’ve not done much before). I’m also so excited about continuing to blog! Most of all,…

    Inspiration for Your Week #4

Happy Monday, everyone! I can hardly believe 2021 is almost over… and what a year it has been! It’s been a blessing to see God’s leading and loving care in my own life this year. There is nowhere that is sweeter than the center of His will. It’s been a good year because God is good! I’m excited about setting some New Year’s goals/plans, some of which I’ll share in next Monday’s post. I’m curious–do you make New Year’s resolutions or goals? Personally, I’ve found that goals are much easier to fulfil than resolutions! For Christmas, I received a copy of a book I’m very excited to read–The Hidden Life…

    Inspiration for Your Week #3

Hello, my friends! The past week was super busy, but also wonderful! The mall singing and concert went really well. It was so thrilling to get to sing about the birth and coming reign of our Savior in a public place. This week has a slightly slower pace, and of course, we are looking forward to Christmas! This morning when I opened my Bible, I read Deuteronomy 32:4, “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” Isn’t it wonderful that the work of our God is perfect? From creation to the finished work…

    Inspiration for Your Week #1

Good morning, friends! I thought I’d do something a bit different today. I love collecting quotes, so at the beginning of each week, I plan to do a short post with an inspirational quote and a Bible verse to think about through the week. I would love to hear your favorite quote, or if the Lord has used a particular verse to encourage you, so feel free to chime in through the comments! This week’s thought: “Waiting always involves the character of our thoughts of the one on whom we wait. Our waiting on God will depend on our faith in what He is. In our text we have the…
