Inspiration for Your Week #10
Hey there, everyone! As I take my Bible classes, it’s been such a blessing to study the foundational truths of God’s word. Sometimes, especially growing up in a Christian home, you take those truths for granted. But how precious they are!
In one of last week’s classes, the teacher was discussing the difference between the law and grace. The topic is huge—way too big to go into here in detail—but I finished the class with renewed gratitude for what Christ has done for us! He lived the life we couldn’t live, keeping the law we couldn’t keep (Matthew 5:17). He died the death we should have died, in our place, bearing our sin (Isaiah 53:4-6). He fulfilled all righteousness, and He offers that righteousness to all who will receive Him by faith (John 1:12). He adopted as sons those who trust Him for salvation, and we are joint-heirs with Him to all the glorious blessings He possesses (Romans 8:15-17).
What a Savior! I hope that you’ve recognized your sinfulness and come to Him, forsaking all trust in anything or anyone else, and trusted Him alone for salvation. And if you have–dear friends, He is worthy of our every breath. We’ve been freed from the control of sin so that we can live for Jesus! We don’t serve Him for salvation, but because of salvation!
For this week’s quote, I want to share with you an old hymn that says it perfectly:
Upon a Life I have not lived,
Upon a Death I have not died,
Another’s Life; Another’s Death,
I stake my whole eternity.
Not on the tears which I have shed,
Not on the sorrows I have known;
Another’s tears; Another’s grief;
On these I rest, on these alone.
O Jesus, Son of God, I build
On what Thy cross has done for me;
There both my life and death I read;
My guilt and pardon there I see.
Lord, I believe, O deal with me,
As one who has Thy word believed!
I take the gift, O look on me,
As one who has Thy gift received.

Have a blessed week!
With love,
