Inspiration for Your Week #5
Good morning, friends! This week, it’s back into “normal”, busy life–and that’s fine with me. I love a break now and then, but there’s just something pleasant about settling into an active routine. At the beginning of each new year, I like to set some goals, and I thought I’d share a few of mine with you.
Some of my goals for 2022 include: memorizing more Scripture, taking full time online Bible classes, becoming more proficient at violin, furthering my medical knowledge by personal study, and trying to develop my own new recipes (something I’ve not done much before). I’m also so excited about continuing to blog! Most of all, I want to prioritize what’s truly important–my relationship with the Lord and then with others. My desire is to live life to the full, enjoying the many gifts, big and small, that God gives me! How about you? I’d love to hear if you have any goals or resolutions you’d like to share!
When I was first struck by the quote for this week, I realized that it was a new way of looking at Romans 8:37-39. We tend to think of these verses in light of the “big trials” that happen in life, and while they are certainly true and comforting for that, the truth revealed is also applicable for the mundane. I certainly hope that none of us will have to walk through big trials this year, but that may be the way the Lord leads. And, of course, we will all, no doubt, have many days that are simply mundane. What a joy to know that the Lord is in the mundane, and that we are not separated from His love by the routine of daily life. We can be more than conquerors in whatever heartache we might face this year, and in the little irritations and frustrations of life.
Undaunted radiance is not built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can alter. The experiences of life, terrible or monotonous, are impotent to touch the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.–Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, March 7th devotional
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:37-39).
May the Lord bless your week!
With love,
Naomi
