The Death of Death
I was brought into the world by sin, the natural consequence of one choice to disobey the Creator. I am the greatest weapon of the devil, and he has wielded me with skill ever since. For 4,000 years, I kept mankind bound within my unbreakable grasp. I shadowed his waking hours and haunted his dreams. For fear of me, men cried to gods of wood and stone; strove in futile efforts to keep a law of impenetrably high standards; and sought the riches and pleasures of life to distract from my terrors. None could escape my bondage, and I laughed with glee as each victim struggled in vain to flee…

Things Eternal
“There are three things that are eternal: God, His Word, and the souls of men.” I heard this statement several times from my Bible school teacher, and it stuck with me. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need a perspective reset—to remind myself: so many things in life really don’t matter all that much. You see, so much of life is a matter of priority. And of course, as sinful humans, our priorities are often mixed up a little (or a lot!). Realizing what is eternal can transform our focus, and our lives, clarifying what is truly important. God is Eternal. This seems like a “duh!” statement, but…

Travel Diaries: Lancaster, PA
Hey friends! So this post is very much overdue…we traveled to Lancaster, PA for a weekend at the very end of October. I’m just now getting to share about our time there, which was short, but such a great experience. We are all hoping to go back someday and explore some more. Lancaster is a beautiful part of the country, and it’s definitely like a little world in itself. Lancaster has so much to offer, and it almost felt a little overwhelming to figure out what we wanted to do while we were there. My friend, who has visited Lancaster previously, kindly put together a great list of ideas, which…

My Favorite Reads in 2025
Hey friends! This is always one of my favorite posts to write, and I can’t believe the time has rolled around again. If you’re looking for some new reads for the coming year, you’re in the right place. I love reading, and I also love getting to share the jewels of books I discover with you all! The books below are not everything I’ve read this year, but they are my favorites—I hope you can find one to enjoy. Of Love and Treason (fiction) by Jamie Ogle. Church history, a slow romance, and secret weddings…fiction doesn’t get any better. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat,…

Life’s Limitations and God’s Grace
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). What a beautiful promise! And the best thing about this promise is that it’s for now. For here. On this earth, every day as we live our lives. Yet there’s also these things called limitations, and life sure has a way of throwing them at us. And when the two meet, it can feel like the limitations win out, while abundant life shrivels in defeat. So, may I share what God has been teaching me? I’m not here to complain or compare. Complaining isn’t helpful to anyone; and comparison would surely reveal…

Numbered Days
Teach me to number my days--Swift as a shuttle through loom,Quick as the trembling blink of an eye,Vanish like mist into gloom.Days that are golden with joy,Days that are heavy with tears,Losses and gain, pleasure and pain,Weave me a picture of years.Teach me to number my days,Wisdom to dwell in my heart.Purposeful, worshipful, guided by Thee,My timeline is Thine to chart. Fill all my moments with grace,Never Thy love I'll forget,Whatever comes, when all is done,I'd not look back with regret.Teach me to number my days--Lord, rest Thy beauty on me,Till I shall stand in Thy presence and praise,Love Thee for eternity. Psalm 90.

Travel Diaries: Old Forge, NY
Visiting Old Forge is a bit like coming home. The little hamlet just inside Adirondack Park has a vibe all its own, and it’s a longstanding tradition for our family, starting with my dad’s visits as a teenager in the 70’s. The small-town feels, the smell of balsam, the unique shops, the sunshine on the river, and the people-watching, I am convinced are like nowhere else. We took an extended weekend trip up there a couple of weeks ago and had such a fun time. In this post, I’ll share with you some of my favorite things about Old Forge. Our trip was the perfect blend of relaxation and fun…

Three Simple Truths to Set You Free
Psalm 138 and 139 are two of my favorite Scripture passages. Time and again, they bring comfort and hope to my heart. Today I just want to remind you of some simple truths. And yes, they are simple. Many of you have probably known them for years. But I find that often, my complex struggles have basic, fundamental answers. These truths are the answer to my insecurities, my discouragement at my own sins or failures, and the empty pursuit of people-pleasing. The gospel was not just for us before we came to Christ. It’s for every believer, all the time. And it is something we must preach to ourselves over…
