My Favorite Reads in 2025
Hey friends! This is always one of my favorite posts to write, and I can’t believe the time has rolled around again. If you’re looking for some new reads for the coming year, you’re in the right place. I love reading, and I also love getting to share the jewels of books I discover with you all! The books below are not everything I’ve read this year, but they are my favorites—I hope you can find one to enjoy. Of Love and Treason (fiction) by Jamie Ogle. Church history, a slow romance, and secret weddings…fiction doesn’t get any better. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat,…

Favorite Picture Books for Ages 3-6
Hey friends! Today I’m going to share with you just some of my favorite picture books for littles ages 3-6 (although kids slightly younger or older could enjoy these too). My mom was a children’s librarian before she had kids, so I grew up with a treasure mine of beautifully written and illustrated books. I remember so many of these books fondly, and love to read them with my nieces and nephews. I truly believe that introducing your children to quality books at a young age can instill a lifelong love of reading. You’re never too young to begin learning to appreciate beautiful art and literature. I hope that these…

My Favorite Reads in 2024
Hey friends, happy (almost) New Year! It’s crazy to think that we are entering 2025. I’ve enjoyed looking back at my journal and photos of this year, realizing how blessed I was to be able to do so many wonderful things and spend time with my family. Most importantly, I’m thankful for the ever-present nearness of my Savior. He is good. Each year, I like to set a reading goal and start fresh with some new books. This year I didn’t read as much as I typically do, but I still have some great books to recommend to you. Feel free to share this post with any friends who love…

My Favorite Devotional Books and Practical Tips for Quiet Time
Hey friends! I love a good devotional book, so I thought I’d share with you a few of my all-time favorites through the years. Of course, devotional books are never a substitute for actually reading the Bible; nor are they God’s word, so you do have to use discernment as you read them. While I didn’t agree with everything in the books I’ve listed below, yet these have all been a help and blessing to me in my Christian life. Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon. If you are looking for a really “meaty” devotional, this classic would be the one. It contains daily devotions for your mornings and evenings,…

My Favorite Reads in 2023
Hey friends! How is it possible that we have only a few days left in this year? I like to take time during this space between Christmas and New Year’s to reflect on the goodness of God over the past months; His faithfulness in the good and the bad times. Remembering His love and provision gives me hope as we enter an uncertain year ahead. We can’t know what it will contain, but what a blessing to walk into it holding tightly to the One Who declares the end from the beginning and Who has promised to always be with us. I have been looking forward to writing this post…

Life Update and Favorites
Hey friends, I cannot believe how long it’s been since I did one of these. If you subscribe to my emails, then you probably have an idea of my life recently, but I definitely did not plan for it to be almost a month since I last posted! And here we are, already in the middle of fall. I’m loving the season, as always, but it’s definitely been on the busy side. Without further ado, here goes on my update and some random favorites from throughout the year. If you notice that the “what I’ve been reading” section of this post is missing, don’t worry. I’ve decided to do something…

More Great Books for Christian Young Women
Hey friends! Today I’m excited to share with you some more books that have blessed me. You may recall a post I did last year about “Great Books for Christian Young Women.” That certainly wasn’t a comprehensive list, so I decided to do a follow-up post with some more favorites. These are all books that I’ve enjoyed a least a portion of at some time, that have encouraged and challenged me in my Christian life, or informed me in some area of interest. In case you’re wondering, yes, I do read fiction sometimes (especially since I love writing it). In my experience, it’s a little harder to find good, well-written…

Christmas Book + Audio Favorites
Hey friends! It’s hard to believe that Christmas will be here in less than two weeks! This is one of my favorite seasons of the year—I love the lights, the music, the shopping, the memories, the church outreaches. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite books and audio resources that I have enjoyed during the Christmas season. Maybe they can become a part of your family’s Christmas traditions and memories. Disclaimer: Just because I recommend a resource does not mean that I agree with everything written therein or endorse everything the author has written. As always, read with discretion and compare everything to God’s word.…

Summer Review and Favorites
Hello friends! Wow, what a summer! Jam-packed with activity and good memories. I enjoyed lovely vacation time, read some great books, and in spite of the heat, enjoyed trying several new recipes. As a little disclaimer before you read on, I’m currently not affiliated with any company, so all the recommendations/links below are solely from my desire to get good resources into your hands. 😊 Summertime Activities Our first trip was to Green Lakes State Park, south of Syracuse, NY. It’s so beautiful there, and yes, the glacial lakes are actually green! The water is a clear aqua, like you see in pictures of the Caribbean. (Unfortunately, the green color…

Great Books for Christian Young Women
Hello friends! For today’s post, I’d like to share with you some book recommendations. As Christian young ladies, we want to live our lives God’s way, and He has a lot to say in His Word about His design and plan for us. At the same time, we’re frequently bombarded with the world’s view of womanhood. And that is completely different from what God says! I’ve often found encouragement by reading books written by Christian women who believe God’s word, who study and proclaim His truth. It can also be so inspiring to read the biographies of women who chose to follow God with all their hearts instead of living…
