Are We Ready?
Based on Luke 22:31-34 and John 21:15-22 “Lord, I am ready,” said Jesus’ disciple, “Both to go with Thee to prison and death, Gladly I’ll lay down my life in Thy service, Yield up for Thy name my very last breath.” Sadly, the Lord looked upon His disciple, “Later today thou shalt Me thrice deny, Thou art not ready yet, though thou art willing, First to thyself and thy sin thou must die.” Often, we say as the eager disciple, “Lord, I am ready whatever the cost, Bid me go anywhere, do something for Thee, Oh, let me spend and be spent in Thy cause.” Looks still the Master upon…

Beyond the Manger
Beyond the manger shines a star, Its glory bright against the sky, To soon be dimmed and blotted out; A Baby had been born to die. Treasures

The sunshine sparkling on the dewy grass, The bird that flutters past, trilling a song. Grace of a sweet and care-free little lass, The springtime after weary winter long. The family gathered round the table full, Each dear face full of shining love and joy, The quietness; the peaceful evening lull, The unity of siblings—girls and boys. The sound of crickets in the evening air; Music of stream a-trickling over stones. The glow of moonlight, silvery and fair; The stars…
