Hey friends! Summer is here, and I’m so happy about that. I love all the fun that comes right along with the season, and I also enjoy getting to cook with fresh fruits and vegetables. That being said, I find it a bit more challenging to cook during the summer due to the heat and busyness. I’ve had fun finding meal ideas for you to make your summer cooking easier. Nonny’s Potato Salad
Hey there! What goes along with hot dogs, watermelon, and lemonade for a summer picnic? Or maybe a barbecue? In my book, it’s potato salad. This was my grandma’s recipe, passed down to my mom, and now I love making it, too. This is more of a chunky potato salad, although you can cook the potatoes a little longer if you prefer it to be softer. Enjoy! Banana Berry Smoothie
Yay for summer! This smoothie is delicious, filling, and so refreshing on a hot day! ‘Tis the season for picking berries; there’s just something so “summery” about getting out in the berry patch! Enjoy this smoothie for breakfast or as a power snack in the afternoon. It’s also healthy—the only “added” sugar is in the orange juice, which you can totally skip if you’d like (just add some water for extra liquid).
